Elastos Bi-Weekly Update – 05 November 2021

In this edition of the Elastos Foundation Bi-Weekly Update, Elastos Essentials released an update and the core development teams released several important node upgrades.

Let’s recap.

Technical Dynamics

Elastos Essentials
– Released version 2.3.2 for Android and iOS platforms. This version added support for Italian and fixed issues such as dApp browser and incorrect balance display
– Wallet now supports more networks and tokens, and displays the list of networks in alphabetical order
– Connectivity SDK now supports requests for issuing certificates
– The in-app browser now supports the schema header defined by third-party applications (such as twitter://) and correctly calls third-party applications
– In-app browser now supports taking screenshots of the current page for Essentials’ window switching effects
– Added support for currencies other than USD and CNY
– Fixed the issue of CR Proposal application creating incorrect voting transactions
– Tested and verified the new Wallet SDK
– Created Essentials integrated dApp template, including DID login and regular wallet operations
– Completed the application PoC of CR community voting
– Fixed the problems reported by users and firebase

DID
– Discussed and verified the support of introducing JSON-LD context in DID
– Developed a preliminary context implementation method for verifiable credentials, so that different applications can implement VC interaction
– Created Elastos DID/VC related JSON-LD context definition
– Created common VC context definitions, such as profile, social, email, wallet, etc.
– Java SDK has packaged the above contexts definition into the SDK as built-in contexts, and provided a read API
– Added JSON-LD expand/compact subcommands to didutils command line for subsequent development and verification
– Wrote DID SDK developer documentation

Hive
– Hive Node implemented a script program for upgrading to Restful APIs v2
– Hive Node optimized Docker-based deployment scripts, supported macOS and Ubuntu Linux platforms
– Built a simulated node network in the production environment to test the Hive Node version upgrade process
– Simulated the production environment, tested and verified the upgraded version of Hive Node integrated IPFS
– Updated the Hive Node v1 file interface implementation to reduce the complexity of subsequent upgrades
– Updated the Hive Node deployment script to solve the warehouse CI problem
– Wrote the Hive SDK document directory structure

Mainchain
– Released the v0.8.2 version of the ELA node, which fixes the problem that might have caused the checkpoint memory status to be abnormal in some cases.
– Completed DPoS 2.0 node registration and voting transaction logic development, and developed lua scripts for self-test
– Refactored part of the code for transaction checking and verification
– Prepared Arbiter node v0.3.0 version, this version supported cross-chain small fast recharge, cross-chain data transmission and other functions.
– Wrote transaction structure documents

EID SideChain
– Improved the legality verification of the Customized ID controller
– Continued the Customized ID test and fixed the bugs found in the test

ESC SideChain
– Upgraded the ESC browser to support contract verification.
– Optimized proxy upgrade contract and debug
– Wrote ESC sidechain related documents

Elastos Wallet Core Module
– Supported the creation and signature of BTC transactions, and added unit tests
– Added the SHA256 algorithm to the data signature and verification interface, and added the signature and verification unit test
– Fixed the problem of compilation failure in ubuntu environment


Node Upgrade Announcement

ESC node upgrade
The elastos-esc-v0.1.4 has been released. Here is the details of this upgrade:
1. Support 12 CR spv dynamic sensing, the effective height is 1,034,900 (likely Nov 15, 2021 Beijing time)
2. Support small amount ELA fast transfer
3. Support recharge, withdrawal and recharge transactions

Note:
The block height of this upgrade is on 1032840 (expected around November 05, 2021 Beijing time), and it is not compatible with release_v0.1.3.4

EID v0.1.3 node upgrade
This upgrade mainly includes:
1. Support doc array sorting verification, the effective height is EID height 2,400,000 (likely Nov 15, 2021 Beijing time)

Note:
This node upgrade is not compatible with release_v0.1.2

DID v0.3.2 node upgrade

This upgrade mainly includes:
1. Compatible with elastos-ela-v0.8.2 version.

Arbiter v0.3.0 node upgrade

This upgrade mainly includes:
1. The new deposit supports data transfer, and the effective block height is ELA 1032840 (expected on November 12, 2021 Beijing time)
2. Support recharge, withdrawal and recharge transactions, the effective height is ELA 1032840
3. Support side chain registration
4. The upper limit for the fast cross-chain transfer is up to 1ELA

The ESC-Oracle v0.1.4 upgrade
This requires the CR node to be upgraded. The elastos-esc-oracle-v0.1.4 version has been released. The upgrade mainly includes:
Support 12 CR spv dynamic sensing, effective block height 1034900 (expected to be November 15, 2021)
Support small amount fast to the account
Support recharge, withdrawal, recharge transaction

Note:
The node height of this upgrade is after ELA 1032840 (expected around November 05, 2021 Beijing time), and it is not compatible with release_v0.1.3.4

It is recommended that DPoS Supernodes who are running sidechain nodes complete the node upgrade of this version as soon as possible before November 12, 2021 Beijing time
