Elastos Bi-Weekly Update – 22 April 2022

An Elastos Smart Contract Chain Upgrade announcement, an ELA Buyback for DPoS 2.0 update, and a lot of technical progress from the core development teams in this Bi-Weekly Technical Update.

Let’s recap.

Technical Dynamics

Elastos Essentials
– Continue to work on core SDK reconstruction and JS SDK development
– Completed the update of the ELA App on Ledger
– Improved discovery mechanism of ERC721 token, based on on-chain data even when no method of list is provided
– Fixed bugs integrated with Glide dApp
– Fixed the dApp icon display bug in in-App Browser
– Updated DID SDK 2.2.4, improve the interface of DID Plugin according to requirements, and enable jSON-LD feature by default
– Improved UI and logic for credential request intent
– Improved processing and filtering of credential types when credential requests are made
– Data statistics for anonymous Credential type usage (raw information for Credential Toolbox)
– Improved page layout for credentials display in Identity App to support newly introduced features
– Improved and supplemented the translation of multilingual resources for recent modifications
– Located and fixed a problem where community users’ DID caused Essentials to crash continuously on iPhone XR

DID
– JavaScript SDK fixed code and test case exceptions in async mode, and released a new version v2.2.5
– Native SDK added App DID support and released a new version v2.2.0
– Native SDK improved the cleaning of resources in Python Binding
– Refined and supplemented credential type definitions as required by Essentials
– Credential ToolBox supported type definitions for creating, publishing and validating credentials
– Credential ToolBox supported statistics of usage data of credential type
– Credential ToolBox completed WalletConnect’s session management

Hive
– Hive Node uses Flask Restful library to simplify Node Restful interface implementation
– Hive Node optimized the import of Service DIDs in the configuration file
– Optimized the triggering conditions for sending error reports of Hive Node logs to the Sentry platform, reducing the frequency of sending unnecessary logs
– Encapsulated the python interface of the underlying Native DID SDK that Hive Node depends on
– Optimized the Node information acquisition interface of Hive Node
– Javascript SDK supported obtaining Hive Node service entry based on Resolve DID document
– Javascript SDK database interface supported Unique way to insert documents into Vault
– Added Script Runner interface to Javascript SDK to support reading authorized data from vaults of different Hive nodes
– Javascript SDK interface aligned to Java SDK interface
– Javascript SDK added API documentation

Carrier
– Carrier2 Native repository supported Trivis CI verification
– Carrier2 Native supported the construction of Linux environment
– Implemented CBOR/JSON-based protocol data serialization
– Continued the development of Carrier2 Java SuperNode

Mainchain
– DPoS 2.0 supports unstaking through multi-signature transactions, and added lua test scripts
– Continued to test DPoS 2.0 functions such as voting, income extraction, and cross-chain transactions, and fixed problems found in the test
– Tested the sidechain consensus optimization scheme during the CR general election and fixed the problems found
– Continued to develop the function of displaying the original text of the proposal in the main chain browser

EID Side Chain
– Updated EID browser to support new transaction types such as customized DID and credential transaction, and fixed some transaction status display errors

ESC Side Chain
– Researched bitcoin’s cross-chain technology
– Developed Arbiter contract upgrade script
– Tested the functions such as Layer2 dynamic perception

Elastos Wallet Core Module
– Added documentation for use on the Wiki

Elastos ELA Node v0.8.3 Update Announcement

Elastos-ela-v0.8.3 version has been officially released. The update includes the following primary features:

1. Improvements to cross-chain stability during the node claiming period following CR elections.

Note: It is strongly recommended that DPoS node operators complete this version’s node upgrade of this version prior to May 10, 2022. To further enhance general security, users should also upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64-bit.

ELASTOS ESC UPGRADE ANNOUNCEMENT 

The elastos-esc-v0.1.4.4 version has been released. The upgrade mainly includes:

It is recommended that DPoS partners who have installed sidechain nodes complete the node upgrade of this version as soon as possible. In order to improve the security of the environment, it is recommended that users upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64-bit
